Devin was 17 years old, and only blind for about two years. He was intractable and unresponsive when Brian and I began working with him. We were the only people he would respond to, and his rehab counselor implored us to try and talk some sense into him. In 25 hours of service over a period of about 6 months, we got him to attend OCB, where prior to that he steadfastly refused to attend any of the centers, and would barely leave his bedroom, even though he had received many dozens of hours from his previous Mobility Instructor who graciously turn his case over to us in Devin's best interest. To be honest, Most of Devin's progress occurred after he left us. But, his attitude had taken a 180, and that open doors wide for him. There is a good clip of us working with him in Brian's documentary, Not By Sight
